RICH held a month-long workshop series on "ABCs of Medical Devices and In-vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) Commercialization Journey," involving entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, MSMEs, and industry players.
The workshop series covered intellectual property, regulatory, industry immersion, and clinical exposure, led by experts, providing practical insights on scaling a proof-of-concept validated idea to a marketable product.

AvidInvent, a renowned healthtech and medtech intellectual patent firm, led a workshop series on ideation research, patent due diligence, and patent navigation, providing valuable knowledge to participants.
The regulatory track, on the other hand, was led by officials from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), operating under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
Collaborating with ICICI Knowledge Park’s (IKP) Global Regulatory Forum (IGRF), they provided participants with a detailed understanding of the regulatory process involved in bringing a medical device or IVD to the market in India. Key topics covered included regulatory compliance, market authorization, and post-market surveillance.
The industry immersion track allowed participants to visit prominent medical device and IVD companies in Telangana, learning about manufacturing processes and compliance requirements.
The clinical exposure track provided participants with valuable insights into the clinical validation process and practical aspects of medical device and IVD commercialization journey, allowing them to observe real trials.
The conclusion of the series featured a start-up showcase, creating a platform for hospitals and start-ups to collaborate and foster new partnerships while also offering networking opportunities.
