TTD's Balaji Institute of Oncology to Acquire two Mobile Cancer Screening Centres at Rs 8.35 Crore

Balaji Institute of Oncology run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will acquire two new mobile cancer screening centres spending Rs. 8.35 crore.
The Triputi trust is responsible for managing the affairs of the popular Lord Venkateswara temple as well as almost five dozen other temples throughout the country. The trust is well known for making immense contributions in the education and healthcare fields.
TTD has set up and manages many specialty hospitals including Balaji Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for the disabled (BIRRD), Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Sri Padmavathi Children's Hospital, Ayurvedic hospital, etc.
The TTD's focus right now is to improve the healthcare facilities in the hospitals it runs. Therefore, it providing hundreds of crores of rupees to offer state of the heart health services either at affordable prices or entirely free of cost.
YV Subba Reddy ìs the Chairman and AV Dharma Reddy is the EO of the TTD trust. The recent trust board meeting took resolution to acquire two new mobile cancer screening centres with a cost of Rs. 8.35 crore.
YV Subba Reddy noted during the board meeting that CM aap Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, aspires to have an elaborative cancer care project in the state. The Andhra Pradesh State government has a vision to set up three extensive cancer care centers in the state, at SVIMS, Tirupati, Chinakakani - Guntur and KGH-Visakhapatnam.
The arrangements to acquire two new cancer screening centres are in full swing as the trust board has granted its approval. Each mobile cancer screening bus would cost the trust Rs 2.15 crore. However, the trust board plans to spend an additional amount of Rs 58.6 lakh to get extra equipment for the new buses. The cost of yearly manpower recruitment for each bus is estimated approximately to be Rs 96 lakh.
The Balaji Institute of Oncology right now has one pink bus but it will have an addition of two new mobile screening buses to its fleet.
Currently, only women were part of the cancer screening tests but now the Tirupati district administration and TTD trust intends to make even men the part of Cancer screening.
TTD and Tirupati district administration will join hands to hold an extensive cancer care screening throughout all mandals and constituencies in the coming future, making it a part of their preventive Oncology initiative.
