ManipalCigna introduces the Sarvah health insurance plan, offering affordable and inclusive coverage for India's missing middle, with unique benefits like unlimited coverage for major organ illnesses and pre-existing conditions.
ManipalCigna Health Insurance has introduced a new health insurance policy, the 'ManipalCigna Sarvah', aimed at providing affordable and inclusive coverage, particularly for India’s "missing middle" population. This group, comprising about 30% of the country's population (around 35-40 crore individuals), lacks adequate financial protection for healthcare, according to NITI Aayog’s "Health Insurance for India’s Missing Middle" report. The Sarvah plan is designed to offer them security against unforeseen high medical expenses.
The Sarvah health insurance plan is available in three variants—Pratham, Uttam, and Param—offering various levels of coverage. Key features include the 'Anant Benefit', which provides unlimited coverage for four major organ-related illnesses, and the 'Gullak Advantage', which offers up to 1000% of the sum insured, regardless of claims. Additionally, the 'Sarathi Benefit' covers pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, obesity, asthma, high blood pressure, and cholesterol starting from the 31st day of the policy.
Prasun Sikdar, Managing Director and CEO of ManipalCigna Health Insurance emphasized that the Sarvah plan is designed to ensure comprehensive and flexible coverage for the millions of individuals previously left without sufficient healthcare protection.
