The Rotary Club and GenWorks have partnered to launch the Malar project, a healthcare solution aimed at improving rural healthcare and supporting the "Fighting Against Cancer" campaign. GenWorks Health has introduced Braster Pro and EVA, portable breast and cervical screening devices, equipped with AI technology and cloud connectivity, which can be operated by paramedical professionals in public health centers.
Rotary International President Jennifer E Jones initiated Project Malar in India, which involved GenWorks providing Braster Pro devices to primary healthcare centers. These devices enabled weekly screenings for 25 to 35 patients, detecting early stages of breast and cervical cancer. Over six months, 1500 individuals were identified with abnormalities, saving over 3% of patients from serious conditions. Rotary Clubs in the area assisted patients by guiding them to scan centers for thorough examinations, including mammography.
With the backing of Rotary Club, GenWorks Health will provide educational initiatives in regions aimed at increasing awareness of breast cancer, potential risk factors, and the importance of early detection.
S Ganesh Prasad, Founder MD & CEO, GenWorks said,
“I think that improving breast cancer in rural communities requires a multi-faceted approach that addresses healthcare infrastructure, education, and cultural factors. The collaboration of GenWorks with Rotary has ensured that rural women get timely detection and are also able to prevent diseases such as Breast Cancer at the right time.”
