TDK Corporation and IIT Madras Launch Health-Tech Accelerator in Chennai

TDK Corporation, in collaboration with IIT Madras' GDC, has launched the TIIC Accelerator 2024 to support and invest in health-tech startups. The program will focus on diagnostic devices, wearables, AI, and robotics.

TDK Corporation, in partnership with IIT Madras' Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (GDC), has launched the TIIC Accelerator 2024, a health-tech startup accelerator program. This initiative aims to support, mentor, and invest in innovative startups within the healthcare technology sector.

The program will focus on diagnostic services and devices, including surgical, imaging, and sensing devices, as well as consumables and advanced materials for diagnostics and equipment. Additionally, it will cover wearables, analytics, IoT, AI, machine learning, and robotics technologies.

Meanwhile, Ashok Jhunjhunwala is advancing EV innovation at the IIT Madras Research Park, with efforts focused on lithium variations, fast-charging batteries, and recycling. Startups are exploring sodium-ion, precious elements, busbars, and hydrogen concepts. IIT Madras has also established the Centre of Excellence for Atomistic Modelling and Materials Design (CAMMD), led by Professor Nanda. The centre focuses on predicting and designing materials using computational techniques, AI, and theoretical methods to develop innovative materials for various applications.
