Sukoon Health and JGU team up to address student mental health challenges with comprehensive support services and awareness initiatives.

In response to the escalating mental health challenges gripping educational institutions, Sukoon Health and OP Jindal Global University (JGU) have joined forces to unveil a pioneering mental health initiative tailored for campus communities. The collaborative endeavor seeks to confront the pressing issue of student mental health, which has been exacerbated by academic pressures, competitive stressors, and a dearth of accessible resources.

With anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues increasingly affecting students, the Sukoon-JGU initiative aims to bridge the gap in mental health support services. A recent survey conducted by JGU revealed stark statistics: while 90 percent of students acknowledge mental health concerns, over half feel they lack access to essential services. Moreover, an overwhelming majority perceive a surge in mental health issues among their peers, underscoring the urgent need for intervention.

At the heart of the initiative lies Sukoon's commitment to providing holistic mental health services. Qualified counselors, therapists, and mental health professionals will offer confidential support to students, complemented by family therapy services. The program encompasses a range of initiatives, including early intervention screenings, mental health awareness workshops, and resilience-building sessions, fostering a supportive and nurturing campus environment.

Dr. Satish Ramaiah, Executive Director of Psychiatry Services at Sukoon Health, expressed pride in the partnership with JGU, emphasizing the program's comprehensive approach to mental health care. He highlighted Sukoon's mission to empower students to navigate mental health challenges and unlock their full potential.
Echoing this sentiment, Prof (Dr) C Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU, reaffirmed the university's commitment to prioritizing the emotional well-being of its community. He underscored the significance of the collaboration with Sukoon Health in ensuring accessible mental health services for students, emphasizing the shared goal of fostering emotional prosperity.

Prof Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, Professor and Registrar at JGU, welcomed Sukoon to the campus, lauding the initiative's dedication to enhancing mental well-being through private counseling facilities and group therapy spaces.

As Sukoon Health and JGU unite to spearhead this landmark mental health program, they herald a new era of student support, where holistic care and community empowerment converge to create a healthier, more resilient campus environment.

The partnership between Sukoon Health and OP Jindal Global University marks a pivotal step towards addressing the mental health crisis facing students. By offering comprehensive support services and fostering a culture of awareness and resilience, the initiative aims to uplift and empower the campus community.
