In June 2021, the firm faced legal action for cheating, criminal conspiracy, and violating the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The company failed to provide records for opioid etizolam salt, leading to a license suspension. The suspension was later lifted.
According to State Drugs Controller Navneet Marwaha, the raid was carried out based on credible information and an initial investigation into the illicit practices of the pharmaceutical company. During the operation, a counterfeit diabetes drug and a multivitamin product, with an estimated value of Rs 55 lakh, were confiscated from the warehouse.
The products were falsely labeled as manufactured by Sikkim-based firms Mankind Pharma and Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited, but they were discovered to be spurious. A raid at Magnatek Enterprises' premises seized in-process tablets and scrap materials, including remnants of blister packs of illicit drugs.
The operation extended throughout the night, encompassing both the godown of the transport company and the manufacturing unit, on the intervening nights of July 15 and 16. Presently, the owner and staff of Magnatek Enterprises are evading authorities.
