In an effort to promote early detection of breast cancer among Indian women, SBI Life Insurance launched the 'Thanks A Dot' self-breast examination kit. This campaign was launched at a media event in Mumbai by the insurer, who enlisted Bollywood actress and cancer survivor Mahima Chaudhry as its brand ambassador.
The insurer introduced a unique kit with a hot water bag to help women simulate breast cancer lump detection, emphasizing the importance of monthly self-breast examinations.
Alarming statistics indicate a rise in breast cancer cases among Indian women aged 25 to 50, with 60 percent being diagnosed at advanced stages. Early detection is critical, as it can save lives in 98 percent of cases, highlighting the significance of regular check-ups.
SBI Life plans to collaborate with various organizations to produce and distribute specialized bags for Indian women, aiming to make self-breast examination a routine practice for both customers and employees.
