Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted India's commitment to affordable cancer care at the launch event 'Sanjeevani: United Against Cancer', hosted by the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation, News18 Network, and Tata Trusts. India offers 42 out of 90 cancer medicines at competitive prices.

Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the government's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, including an increase in medical seats and the Ayushman Bharat health infrastructure mission. He emphasized that health is a service to India, not a political issue, and he emphasized India's comprehensive approach since 2014.

In addressing the nation's involvement in healthcare, he cited the collective efforts in battling COVID-19. The 'Sanjeevani' initiative aims to promote cancer awareness, stimulate discussions, and tackle common fears. The Minister invited public engagement, emphasizing the central government's commitment to consulting stakeholders.

He acknowledged the crucial role of ASHA behens in gathering healthcare information and government's approach to cancer care, which includes wellness screening and granting fee waivers for underprivileged patients.
