Sakra World Hospital Organizes Heart-Boosting Walkathon for Health and Wellness

Sakra World Hospital in Bengaluru organized a heart-boosting walkathon to celebrate World Heart Day.
Sakra World Hospital in Bengaluru promoted heart health by holding a walkathon to commemorate World Heart Day. The event was attended by Yuichi Nagano, Managing Director; Naoya Matsumi, Deputy Managing Director; Lovekesh Phasu, Group COO; as well as healthcare experts Dr. Sreekanth Shetty, Senior Consultant and Head of Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Adil Sadiq, Head and Senior Consultant of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery; and Dr. Deepak Krishnamurthy, Senior Consultant of Intervention.
The Walkathon promoted heart health and a heart-healthy lifestyle for all ages. Dr Sreekanth Shetty said, “Walking is efficient aerobic exercise that enhances heart strength, circulation, and lung capacity, reducing blood pressure, aiding weight control, and improving blood sugar and cholesterol levels.”
Dr Adil Sadiq said, “Sedentary lifestyles increase heart health issues and a Walkathon can revitalize hearts by enhancing blood flow, strengthening the heart muscle, and reducing risk factors.”
Dr Deepak Krishnamurthy said, “Just 2.5 hours of brisk walking weekly can improve heart health and reduce the risk of premature death.”
