Rainbow Children's Medicare Limited and Tanzania's Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for three years to collaborate in the pediatric healthcare sector, with financial responsibilities shared between Rainbow Children's Hospital and the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health is supporting this collaboration, which aims to exchange expertise, knowledge, and technology in pediatric medical areas such as heart surgery, neurological surgery, and kidney transplants between the two countries.
Under this MOU, both parties will concentrate on two primary areas:
Specialized services
Establishing pediatric centers in Tanzania, equipped with Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and pediatric cardiac catheterization facilities.
Launching a pediatric bone marrow transplant program at Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania.
Performing cardiothoracic and pediatric surgeries, while also offering mentorship and technical supervision to a cardiac team.
Human resources development
Training pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, interventionists, pediatric intervention cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and perfusionists.
Establishing a collaborative specialized clinic/OPD in Tanzania to examine and screen Tanzanian children.
Dr Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman and Managing Director, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, said, “I am excited for this cooperation. It has the potential to benefit both nations. I am grateful to the Ministry of Health for their support in this partnership.” make a meta description and excerpt
