Paras Health Utilizes Breakthrough IVL Catheter Technology

Paras Health is at the forefront of medical innovation, harnessing the power of breakthrough Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) Catheter Technology.
Following its recent launch, Paras Health in Gurugram has become the third medical facility in India to use C2 Plus IVL Catheter technology.
This technology was successfully applied by Dr. Amit Bhushan Sharma, Director & Unit Head of Interventional Cardiology at Paras Health, to treat a 58-year-old patient with a 100% artery blockage.
This new technology is intended specifically to treat cases of resistant coronary blockages that don't respond to standard therapies.
The patient initially complained of chest pain, and several tests, including an ECG and tests for cardiac enzymes, came back normal. However, due to the patient's symptoms and medical background, doctors were concerned about the patient's persistent pain. Despite theories that the problem was caused by heavy LPG cylinder lifting, the patient's condition quickly deteriorated, leading to cardiac arrest.
Dr. Bhushan and his team quickly identified a complete artery blockage and started CPR. Surgery using the C2 Plus IVL Catheter technology was the only practicable course of action given the circumstances. The patient then received five days of care before being released, and he or she is currently making a steady recovery.
Dr Amit Bhushan Sharma said, “This case demonstrates the transformative potential of advanced medical technologies. We are proud to be the third center in India to successfully utilize the C2 Plus IVL Catheter technology, showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of cardiac care and providing hope to patients in critical situations.”
