In a significant move towards advancing healthcare in Arunachal Pradesh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked.
The Arunachal Pradesh government, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), and Religare Enterprises have struck an agreement to improve healthcare services in the state. Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Executive Chairperson of Religare Enterprises, describes the collaboration's goals and impact.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Arunachal Pradesh's government and organizations aims to strengthen tertiary care facilities, bridge healthcare skills gaps, and ensure affordable, equitable healthcare for the people of Arunachal Pradesh, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's vision to improve healthcare and social infrastructure in the Northeast.
The initial step is establishing a "Centre of Excellence for Renal Sciences" at TRIHMS, bringing advanced medical care closer to residents, reducing the need for travel.
Long-term implications include altering healthcare in Arunachal Pradesh, including generating more specialized medical facilities, expanding access to sophisticated healthcare, and drawing patients from surrounding areas. It can also help the state's medical research, innovation, and education.
Furthermore, this partnership can make the state's healthcare system more resilient to pandemics like COVID-19.
This collaboration will assist in closing the skills gap by providing SGRH technical advisory support, specialized training workshops, mentorship programs, and capacity-building efforts for healthcare professionals in the state.
The state is addressing challenges posed by its dispersed population through technology like telemedicine and government support, while also addressing the medical staff gap through training and skilling initiatives.
