Metropolis Healthcare expands its footprint with a Rs 35 crore acquisition of Dr. Ahujas’ Pathology & Imaging Centre, strengthening its B2C reach.

Metropolis Healthcare, under the leadership of Ameera Shah, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Metropolis Histoxpert Digital Services, will acquire full ownership of Dr. Ahujas’ Pathology and Imaging Centre (DAPIC), a Dehradun-based diagnostic chain. The acquisition, valued at Rs 35.01 crore, is a 100% all-cash transaction formalized through a business transfer agreement.
Established in 1990 by Dr. Alok and Dr. Alka Ahuja, DAPIC operates two NABL and NABH-accredited labs, 11 patient service centres, and nine centres within hospitals. The centre provides pathology and soft radiology services such as ECG, ultrasound, and X-ray. In FY 2024-25, DAPIC reported an estimated unaudited revenue of Rs 11.5 crore, with pathology services contributing 73% and radiology 27%. Notably, 80% of its revenue is derived from walk-in patients, showcasing a solid B2C presence.
To maintain continuity during the transition, both founders—Dr. Alok Ahuja and Dr. Alka Ahuja—will remain actively involved in the business following the acquisition. EY served as the exclusive financial advisor for DAPIC, while BDO India LLP advised Metropolis Healthcare on the transaction.
This strategic move strengthens Metropolis’ presence in North India and enhances its diagnostic capabilities through an expanded B2C network.
