Merck India appoints Dhananjay Singh as the new Managing Director of its Life Science unit, bringing 26 years of experience to the role.

Merck India, a leading global science and technology company, has announced the appointment of Dhananjay Singh as the new Managing Director of its Life Science unit, effective April 1, 2024. Singh succeeds Sreenath NS, who is retiring after an illustrious 36-year tenure with the company.

With an extensive 26 years of experience at Merck, Singh brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He will be tasked with spearheading the Life Science strategy in India, with a keen focus on enhancing governance and ensuring compliance.

In a statement, Pratima Reddy, Country Speaker for Merck India, expressed confidence in Singh's capabilities, stating, "Dhananjay’s expertise in market dynamics and relationship management will strengthen Merck Life Science’s position in India."

Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, Singh served as the Head of Science & Lab Solutions Commercial for India. His leadership was instrumental in driving growth and fostering strategic partnerships within the region.

Singh is known for his commitment to the 'India for India and India for the Globe' strategy, which emphasizes fostering partnerships and promoting domestic production. Commenting on his new role, Singh expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I am enthusiastic to drive our collective efforts toward achieving unparalleled success. Together, we will support government initiatives like ‘Make in India’ to foster growth and innovation."
