Lucknow recently hosted the inauguration of the 'MedLegal Accreditation Program – For Doctors', a pioneering initiative crafted by the MedLegal Safety Standards Organisation (MSSO) aimed at mitigating medical errors and fostering safety within the healthcare sector.

The program, designed to empower doctors across India, will be facilitated by Reach52, an organization dedicated to advancing healthcare in low and middle-income countries. Edward Booty, CEO (Global), and Vivek Verma, CEO (India) from Reach52, alongside Ravindra Mangal, Executive Director, and Agasti Mhatre, Chief Operations Officer from the Institute of Medicine & Law, graced the inaugural event with their presence.

At its core, the program is geared towards equipping doctors with the necessary tools to identify potential areas of risk and minimize errors in their daily practice. By offering guidance on both the medical and legal dimensions of managing critical situations, the initiative seeks to instill a culture of accountability and diligence among healthcare professionals.

An integral aspect of the program is its commitment to providing ongoing support and updates to accredited doctors, ensuring they remain abreast of the latest developments in medical jurisprudence and safety protocols. MSSO, a subsidiary of the Institute of Medicine & Law dedicated to promoting safety in healthcare, spearheads this crucial endeavor.

Headquartered in Singapore, Reach52 collaborates with a diverse array of stakeholders, including businesses, governments, and social organizations, to execute targeted health campaigns across multiple nations, including the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Cambodia, Kenya, and South Africa.

The launch of the MedLegal Accreditation Program underscores a collective commitment to elevating standards of care and safeguarding patient well-being within the healthcare ecosystem. As doctors embrace this transformative initiative, the prospect of a safer and more efficient healthcare landscape becomes increasingly attainable.
