Medical Inflation in India: How Aarthi Scans is trying to Make Quality Diagnosis Affordable
Aarthi Scans fights medical inflation with affordable charges, providing accessible and quality diagnosis services for better healthcare.

The National Health Systems Resource Centre recently reported that healthcare costs in India are rising at an alarming rate. In 2022, the medical inflation rate in India reached 14%, indicating an annual increase of 14% in the cost of healthcare.

ER. V. Govindarajan, Founder of Aarthi Scans & Labs said -

“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable, and that’s a vision we believe is worth lighting for!”

Patients are bearing the brunt of this rise in healthcare costs, as it has a devastating impact on them. The financial constraint caused by these escalating costs can lead to delays in both diagnosis and treatment. Such delays can result in serious consequences, as timely diagnosis and treatment often play a critical role in saving lives.

In recent years, the prices of essential diagnostic tools such as CT scans, MRI scans, and blood tests have witnessed significant increases. For instance, the cost of a CT scan has surged by 52% in the past five years, while the average salary of employed individuals has only seen a 12% increase.

The escalating expenses associated with diagnostic tests pose a particularly challenging situation for patients in urgent need of testing. Standalone diagnostic centers as well as those within hospitals often impose higher rates for services provided during nighttime.

In a groundbreaking move aimed at making diagnostics more affordable and accessible to a larger number of patients, Aarthi Scans and Labs have taken the initiative to reduce their prices by more than 50%. Moreover, they have decided to charge even lower rates during night time.

While the cost of an MRI scan at any other diagnostic center stands at Rs. 7500, Aarthi Scans offers the same scan for Rs. 3500 during the day and a reduced rate of Rs. 2750 at night.

In contrast to the practices of other hospitals and diagnostic centers, which often impose additional charges for scans conducted during nighttime hours, Aarthi Scans and Labs proudly reduce prices by 63% for scans conducted after 7 PM. This forward-thinking approach not only promotes access to essential healthcare services but also strives to make them more affordable for a wider population.

Aarthi Scans and Labs, boasting a legacy of 34 years, have successfully garnered the trust and admiration of numerous individuals. Their remarkable tenure serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication in providing exceptional healthcare services, even in the face of mounting medical inflation.
