Maruti Suzuki celebrates one year of cardiac care in rural Gujarat, demonstrating its commitment to accessible healthcare.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) commemorated the successful first anniversary of its cath lab facility at Zydus Sitapur Hospital, underscoring its commitment to providing accessible cardiac care in rural Gujarat.

With an initial investment of ₹5.6 crores, the Cath Lab has been instrumental in offering critical cardiac services to residents across approximately 400 villages in the region.

This initiative reflects MSIL's dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, emphasizing good health and well-being. Integrated within the Zydus Sitapur Hospital, a comprehensive multi-specialty facility, the Cath Lab is part of MSIL's significant investment of ₹160 crores into the healthcare infrastructure.

Operating round-the-clock, the hospital serves communities in 12 talukas of Gujarat, including Becharaji, Mandal, Mehsana, and Patan. Prior to the establishment of the Cath Lab, individuals in these areas faced substantial challenges in accessing quality cardiac treatment, often requiring long-distance travel.

Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, MSIL, reiterated the company's dedication to bridging healthcare disparities by ensuring tertiary care services are readily available to all segments of society. Bharti also highlighted MSIL's role in extending support to 240 heart patients from low-income groups under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) government healthcare scheme.

The Zydus Sitapur Hospital, inaugurated in 2021, represents a milestone as the region's inaugural multi-specialty healthcare center.

Managed by the esteemed Ramanbhai Foundation, the hospital caters to the medical needs of over 1.5 million individuals residing in neighboring villages.

Accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and holding a gold quality certification from the Quality Council of India (QCI), the hospital underscores its commitment to delivering superior healthcare services to the community.
