Mumbai's esteemed Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital has unveiled its latest addition—a cutting-edge Liver Clinic dedicated to addressing liver disorders, hepatitis, and associated complications. Ms. Tina Ambani, Chairperson of the hospital, inaugurated this state-of-the-art facility, marking a significant step forward in liver healthcare.

Recognizing the pressing need to combat liver-related ailments, the clinic aims to tackle chronic liver disease, which tragically accounts for over 20 lakh deaths annually. Led by renowned specialists Dr. Somnath Chattopadhyay and Dr. Gaurav Mehta, the clinic emphasizes early detection and comprehensive care strategies.

Dr. Gaurav Mehta, a distinguished consultant specializing in gastroenterology, hepatology, and transplant hepatology at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, expressed enthusiasm for the clinic's potential impact. He remarked, "The liver clinic, equipped with advanced technology, heralds a new era in liver care. Early detection facilitated by sophisticated tools stands as our most powerful defense against liver diseases. Modern advancements in surgery and medicine have made once-challenging liver transplants a reality. We are instilling hope, transforming lives, and forging a healthier future."
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Somnath Chattopadhyay, the consultant and head of the hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and liver transplant department at the hospital, emphasized the clinic's multifaceted role. "The Liver Clinic will serve as a comprehensive platform for diagnosing, treating, and managing various liver diseases," he stated. Dr. Chattopadhyay highlighted a significant concern, citing studies indicating that approximately 38 percent of Indians exhibit signs of fatty liver or NAFLD, a condition that can exacerbate without overt symptoms. The clinic, he assured, would play a pivotal role in early and effective detection and treatment of liver diseases.

The launch of the Liver Clinic at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital marks a crucial stride in the fight against liver-related ailments, promising advanced care, timely interventions, and a renewed emphasis on proactive healthcare strategies to combat these prevalent and often insidious diseases.
