Explore the key aspects of SAMRIDH's mission and its impactful contributions to transformative change, innovation, and sustainable development.

SAMRIDH arose in response to the critical need for healthcare solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in remote communities. Its goal is to develop long-term healthcare solutions in collaboration with public and private sector partners. SAMRIDH's mission is to improve market access and funding for researchers and incubators, thereby scaling life-saving initiatives and serving as a global best-practice model.

USAID partnered with IPE Global due to its expertise in creating a sustainable environment for health innovation and scaling healthcare solutions across India. Together, they engaged with India's startup ecosystem and various stakeholders to develop SAMRIDH.

SAMRIDH utilizes blended financing, a combination of public, philanthropic, and commercial capital, to fund innovative healthcare solutions, focusing on underserved areas.

SAMRIDH has aided in the development of cutting-edge healthcare solutions, such as portable, battery-powered medical devices. With applications such as RT LAMP-based COVID-19 testing, genome sequencing, AI-enabled platforms, and portable ECG monitors, these innovations have improved access to primary healthcare in remote areas.

SAMRIDH utilizes philanthropic investment to enhance its financing model by providing private capital through instruments like risk guarantees, social success notes, and returnable grants.

SAMRIDH has leveraged $300 million to support over 60 social entrepreneurs, benefiting more than 25 million people in India. It has improved access to quality and affordable healthcare services.

SAMRIDH's success and recognition on a global scale position it for sustainability. Measures to ensure sustainability include raising more grant capital for programs in India, replicating the model in other regions, and expanding its use in areas like education and climate crisis engagement.
