Bengaluru recently hosted the Kauvery Annual Heart Summit, a convergence of global cardiologists dedicated to advancing cardiac care breakthroughs with a focus on patient affordability.
Bengaluru played host to the Kauvery Annual Heart Summit, a gathering of cardiologists from India and around the world, focused on advancing cardiac care breakthroughs while prioritizing patient affordability.
The summit, held over the weekend, delved into research, innovation, cost-effective treatments, and non-invasive techniques to transform patient outcomes.
With over 358 participants, including cardiologists, surgeons, and physicians, the summit tackled discussions spanning heart failure, transplants, complex valve procedures, and coronary artery disease management. Non-surgical valve repair techniques took center stage as experts heralded them as the future of cardiac care.
Dr. Rajani M, Joint Director (Medical) for Karnataka, emphasized the need for heart transplants in the state and commended Kauvery's dedication to complex procedures and raising awareness about organ donation.
Reducing patient costs and exploring alternatives to surgery were key themes, according to Dr. S Chandrakumar, Founder of Kauvery Hospital, who stated, "Bringing down overall costs and finding solutions to complex heart ailments formed the crux of the discussions."
Distinguished speakers like Dr. (Wg Cdr) SS Iyengar, Dr. M Chenniappan, Dr. S Venkatesh, Prof Alain Cribier, and Dr. Chiran Babu A shared their expertise on various cardiology aspects. Dr. M Chenniappan received the lifetime achievement award at the summit.
Dr. Vijayabhaskaran, Executive Director of Kauvery Hospital, highlighted the diverse participation from India and overseas, underscoring the summit's significance. "Events like this provide a glimpse into the future of cardiology and spread awareness about the most modern practices," he concluded.
