In a groundbreaking collaboration, IRCAD India, a center dedicated to minimally invasive surgery training and research, has launched its center in Indore in partnership with Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), aiming to establish a global hub for advanced medical training.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mohit Bhandari, a renowned bariatric surgeon, IRCAD India aims to mirror the expertise and innovation of its counterpart in France, the Institut de Recherche Contre les Cancers de l’Appareil Digestif (IRCAD), becoming a pivotal center for surgical advancements.

The board of IRCAD India boasts Dr. Vinod Bhandari as Chairman and Dr. Mahak Bhandari as Vice President, ensuring a robust leadership structure for the center's operations and development.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology comprising 42 stations integrating robotics, 3D, and 4K capabilities, the Indore-based center will serve as a premier training facility offering surgeons worldwide access to comprehensive training in advanced surgical techniques.

The joint venture signing ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof Jacques Marescaux, President of IRCAD Global, who praised SAIMS for providing a robust infrastructure conducive to unparalleled surgical training.

Dr. Mohit Bhandari, President of IRCAD India, highlighted the center's alignment with the Make in India initiative, emphasizing its role in fostering crucial research and development for medical devices.

Scheduled to commence operations in 2024, IRCAD India aims to significantly benefit medical practitioners, surgeons, and burgeoning medical device startups in India and the wider SAARC region.
