The Indian Medical Commission's recent achievement of a 10-year recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) marks a momentous step forward in the field of medical education in India.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) of India has been granted World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Recognition for a period of ten years, raising medical education standards.
This accreditation applies to all 706 present Indian medical schools as well as those that will be founded during the next decade. It promotes global alignment by allowing Indian medical graduates to seek postgraduate study in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
NMC's WFME accreditation boosts international recognition for Indian medical institutions, fosters academic partnerships, promotes innovation in medical education, and ensures quality assurance, enabling Indian students to apply for foreign medical education and US Medical Licensing Examination.
Dr Yogender Malik, Member of the Ethics and Medical Registration Board and Head Media Division at NMC on this landmark achievement said,
“WFME’s recognition underscores that the quality of medical education in India adheres to global standards. This accolade empowers our students with the opportunity to pursue their careers anywhere in the world, while also making India an attractive destination for international students due to our globally recognized standards.”
