"IIT Kanpur and UPUMS have forged a powerful partnership aimed at propelling healthcare to new heights. By synergizing their expertise in technology and medicine, they are poised to revolutionize the landscape of healthcare through groundbreaking advancements and collaborative initiatives.
On August 26, 2023, the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), a technology business incubator at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), and the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), located in Saifai, Etawah, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signatories were Prof. Ankush Sharma, who is in charge of innovation and incubation at IIT Kanpur, and Prof. (Dr) Prabhat Kumar Singh, vice chancellor of UPUMS.
Utilizing the advantages of both universities, this alliance will first concentrate on advancing less invasive medical devices. UPUMS will make a contribution by assisting with crucial clinical trials for these devices, bringing them closer to usage in real-world situations and assisting patients.
Beyond customary cooperation, the alliance between SIIC IIT Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences extends to various areas. It involves elevating mentoring, training, and research quality.
Utilizing shared resources, encouraging active cooperation through interactive events, and exchanging research resources and experience within a collaborative framework are all made easier for startups and innovators as a result.
Additionally, the partnership includes cooperative participation in crucial national and international healthcare programs.
