Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has successfully extended healthcare services to more than 15 lakh individuals residing in rural regions across seven states in India through its commendable initiative, Sparsh Sanjeevani. This initiative ingeniously combines telemedicine centers and mobile medical units (MMUs) to ensure the delivery of essential healthcare to remote areas.
A noteworthy investment of ₹43.9 crores has been allocated towards the Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative for the fiscal years 2021-2024. On average, approximately ₹1,200 to ₹1,500 is expended per patient, illustrating the substantial commitment to providing quality healthcare services to those in need. Common ailments addressed under this initiative include flu, respiratory tract infections, joint pain, diabetes, and various dermatological conditions.
HMIF has outlined plans to further expand this impactful model across seven additional regions, augmenting the existing network with additional telemedicine centers and mobile units. Under the Sparsh Sanjeevani umbrella, HMIF has implemented two pivotal programs: Telemedicine Center and Mobile Medical Unit.
Puneet Anand, Associate Vice President & Vertical Head of Corporate Affairs at Hyundai Motor India Limited, expressed, "Sparsh Sanjeevani is bridging the gap between specialist doctors in metropolitan cities and patients residing in rural areas." This statement underscores the transformative role of technology in facilitating access to healthcare services for underserved communities.
The Telemedicine Center component of Sparsh Sanjeevani serves as a vital link, connecting patients in remote areas with specialist doctors located in urban centers through virtual consultations. Simultaneously, the Mobile Medical Unit aspect ensures the physical presence of healthcare professionals in remote villages, facilitating on-the-ground medical assistance and treatment.
Through Sparsh Sanjeevani, HMIF is not only addressing immediate healthcare needs but is also laying the groundwork for sustainable healthcare solutions in underserved regions of the country. By leveraging technology and strategic partnerships, this initiative epitomizes Hyundai Motor India Foundation's commitment to making a meaningful impact on healthcare accessibility and inclusivity in rural India.
