To bridge the healthcare gap in India, Online Chikitsa Mitra, a HealthTech startup, announces plans to set up 200 e-clinics in underserved areas. Their long-term vision is to establish a vast network of 100,000 e-clinics.
In anticipation of World Health Day, HealthTech startup Online Chikitsa Mitra has unveiled its ambitious initiative to address the healthcare gap in India. The company aims to establish 200 e-clinics in underserved regions across the country, with a long-term vision of setting up one lakh e-clinics nationwide.
Smriti Tandon, Co-founder of Online Chikitsa Mitra, highlighted the critical need for improved healthcare accessibility in India, where there is just one doctor for every 1,400 patients. The establishment of 100,000 e-clinics is envisioned as a significant step towards bridging this gap. The company's innovative approach involves partnering with small and medium-sized pharmacies to create business opportunities while enhancing healthcare access in local communities.
Online Chikitsa Mitra facilitates remote medical consultations for patients in rural areas through its rural telemedicine network, connecting them with specialists via video consultations conducted at local pharmacies. This model eliminates the need for rural patients to undertake arduous journeys to distant hospitals, thereby improving access to quality healthcare services.
The expansion efforts will primarily target states with limited healthcare access, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Currently operating over 500 e-clinics across 13 states, Online Chikitsa Mitra has successfully served over 40,000 patients, demonstrating a high repeat rate.
With its commitment to leveraging technology to enhance healthcare delivery, Online Chikitsa Mitra is poised to make significant strides in improving healthcare accessibility and outcomes for underserved communities across India.
