Bengaluru-based insurance-tech startup, Healspan, has successfully raised Rs 1.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round, marking a significant milestone in the company's journey. The funding was led by PedalStart, a startup community-builder and accelerator.

While this marks Healspan's first institutional fundraising round since its inception in 2022, the startup has, through strategic fundraising efforts, accumulated a total funding of Rs 1.7 crore to date.

Healspan, founded in 2022, has already made a notable impact, aiding over 60 hospitals pan-India in efficiently managing documentation, queries, processing, and other critical aspects related to cashless health insurance claims.

The newly acquired pre-seed capital will be instrumental in enhancing Healspan's technology infrastructure, talent acquisition, and overall business operations and growth.

The funds raised in this round are earmarked for significant improvements and upgrades to the company's flagship software, particularly in optimizing the front-end user experience.

Additionally, the capital will facilitate the recruitment of key team members, enabling Healspan to focus on sustainable and profitable growth while expanding its clientele and impact in the insurance-tech sector.

Sabarinath U and Abhi Sinha, Co-Founders of Healspan, expressed their excitement about the pre-seed fundraising round, stating, "The funds raised will enable us to make significant product and tech-related enhancements and upgrades, especially in terms of optimizing the front-end of our flagship software. It shall further enable us to onboard the right talent, including core team members, so that we can focus on growing sustainably and profitably while increasing our clientele and impact."

Looking ahead, Healspan remains committed to its mission of making healthcare administration effortless by automating and streamlining claims management through SaaS technology. The recent funding injection positions the company for continued growth, ensuring its software reaches and benefits the maximum hospitals and tertiary healthcare centers across India.
