Hypertension Awareness Month, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals spearheaded nationwide initiatives to raise awareness and promote preventive measures against high blood pressure.
Throughout the month of May, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (Glenmark) dedicated its efforts to raising awareness about hypertension, or high blood pressure, across India. Through strategic partnerships and extensive community engagement, Glenmark reached millions of adults, highlighting the importance of hypertension prevention and management.
Glenmark Pharma collaborated with over 1000 healthcare professionals (HCPs) spanning 250+ cities and towns nationwide to organize 400+ public awareness rallies and screening camps. These events aimed to educate the public about hypertension, its signs, symptoms, and preventive measures. Attendees had the opportunity to undergo blood pressure screenings, ensuring early detection and intervention.
The #TakeChargeAt18 campaign, launched by Glenmark, specifically targeted Indian adults aged 18 and above, encouraging them to prioritize hypertension awareness and screening. Through various channels and campaigns, this initiative reached millions of individuals, fostering a culture of proactive health management.
In a pioneering move in 2020, Glenmark introduced the world's first-ever hypertension awareness symbol, "The BP logo," in collaboration with the Hypertension Society of India (HSI) and the Association of Physicians of India (API). This symbol serves as a visual reminder of the importance of monitoring blood pressure and taking proactive steps towards cardiovascular health.
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals' dedicated efforts throughout Hypertension Awareness Month have significantly contributed to raising awareness and promoting preventive measures against hypertension across India. By engaging with communities, healthcare professionals, and individuals alike, Glenmark continues to drive impactful initiatives aimed at improving public health outcomes and fostering a culture of wellness.
