Gleneagles Hospital in Parel, Mumbai, has introduced a cutting-edge biplane catheterization laboratory, a first of its kind in the region. This innovative facility integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionize the treatment of cardiac conditions.
Gleneagles Hospital, located in Parel, Mumbai, has taken a significant leap forward in cardiac care with the introduction of a state-of-the-art biplane catheterization laboratory.
Unveiled amidst great anticipation, this innovative facility integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionize the treatment of cardiac conditions, promising faster diagnosis, reduced radiation exposure, and improved treatment outcomes.
The inauguration ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of actor, director, and producer Shreyas Talpade, marked a pivotal moment in the hospital's commitment to providing advanced healthcare solutions. The biplane cath lab, a first of its kind in the region, represents a paradigm shift in interventional cardiology.
At the heart of this technological marvel are two C-arms, a departure from the conventional single-plane setup found in most cath labs. Dr. Sameer Pagad and Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, leading Interventional Cardiologists at Gleneagles Hospitals, emphasized the significance of this dual-arm configuration. By simultaneously capturing data from perpendicular angles, the biplane cath lab generates precise 3-dimensional images, resulting in decreased radiation exposure and shorter hospital stays for patients.
Dr. Nitin Dange, Director of Interventional Neurology, Stroke Care & Neurosurgery, underscored the lab's versatility in neurointerventional procedures. Equipped with two C-arms, it facilitates swift image acquisition, minimizing the need for multiple contrast dye injections and reducing radiation exposure. Dr. Dange highlighted its efficacy in treating complex neurovascular and spinal vascular diseases, including intracranial aneurysms, AVMs, ICAD, acute strokes, spinal AVMS, and AVFS, with improved outcomes and fewer complications.
Commenting on this milestone achievement, Dr. Vivek Talaulikar, Chief Operating Officer of IHH Healthcare India, expressed pride in the hospital's commitment to excellence. The introduction of the advanced biplane cath lab underscores Gleneagles Hospital's dedication to leveraging cutting-edge technology for precise diagnostics and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Talaulikar emphasized the hospital's unwavering commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services by embracing medical innovation.
The unveiling of the biplane cath lab heralds a new era in cardiac care, promising superior outcomes for patients while reaffirming Gleneagles Hospital's position as a leader in healthcare innovation and excellence.
