The healthcare infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is facing a critical deterioration, with the risk of hospitals and health centers shutting down due to attacks and fuel shortages, according to Ashraf Al-Qudra, a spokesperson for the Gaza-based Health Ministry.
The Gaza Strip's healthcare infrastructure has deteriorated significantly, according to a representative speaking on behalf of the Palestinian authorities.
"We fear that more (hospitals and health centres) will be out of service in the coming hours due to the attacks and running out of fuel," said Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for the Gaza-based Health Ministry.
On October 7, Hamas launched an unexpected attack on Israel, launching thousands of rockets and sending forces into Israeli territory. Israel responded with extensive airstrikes and punitive measures, including a blockade on the enclave, disrupting essential supplies.
As for the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, it has led to the tragic loss of nearly 5,800 Palestinian lives in the Gaza Strip and more than 1,400 casualties in Israel.
