Fortis Healthcare acquires Shrimann Hospital in Jalandhar for ₹462 Cr, boosting its network and expanding bed capacity in Punjab.

Fortis Healthcare is set to acquire Shrimann Superspecialty Hospital in Jalandhar for ₹462 crore, reinforcing its presence in Punjab. The 228-bed hospital, with potential expansion to 450+ beds, will be acquired through Fortis' wholly-owned subsidiary, Fortis Hospotel Limited (FHTL), pending shareholder approval.

This all-cash deal, excluding stamp duty and regulatory costs, includes the hospital building, operations, and an additional 2.4-acre land parcel for future growth. The acquisition aligns with Fortis’ cluster-focused expansion strategy, enhancing its network in Punjab, where it already operates in Mohali, Amritsar, and Ludhiana.

Established in 2018, Shrimann Hospital is a NABH-accredited multi-specialty facility offering services in cardiac sciences, nephrology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, and general surgery. For FY 2024-25, it is projected to generate ₹154 crore in revenue with an EBITDA of ₹36 crore.

Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, emphasized that the acquisition will help expand Fortis' bed capacity beyond 1,000 beds in Punjab while strengthening medical specialties and clinical excellence. Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to be finalized by March 2025.
