In a remarkable medical feat, doctors at Kamineni Hospital, LB Nagar, Hyderabad, successfully performed an endoscopic bone removal surgery on a 66-year-old man, saving him from potential complications.

Sriramulu, a resident of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, had accidentally swallowed a 3.5-centimeter mutton bone, which became lodged in his esophagus.

Initially experiencing chest pain, Sriramulu's condition was misdiagnosed by local doctors. However, an endoscopy at Kamineni Hospital revealed the bone's perilous position near his heart, prompting immediate intervention. Led by Dr. Radhika Nittala, the complex endoscopic procedure proved successful, sparing Sriramulu from the need for major surgery.

Dr. Nittala emphasized the critical nature of the surgery due to the bone's proximity to Sriramulu's heart. Following the procedure, Sriramulu is currently recovering well under observation, adhering to a soft diet regimen. Dr. Nittala underscored the importance of timely intervention and advised proper food consumption, particularly for individuals with dental issues, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
