Drone-Powered Healthcare: Skye Air Joins Ayushman Bharat to Revolutionize Medical Logistics
Skye Air and Ayushman Bharat team up to bring drones to healthcare, boosting accessibility to medical supplies across AIIMS facilities.

Skye Air, a leader in drone logistics, has partnered with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) to introduce drone-enabled healthcare logistics across five AIIMS locations: Jodhpur, Patna, Deoghar, Manipur, and Mangalagiri. Announced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's healthcare expansion initiative, this collaboration aims to increase accessibility to essential medical services, particularly in regions with limited infrastructure.

With this initiative, drones will now transport medical supplies, life-saving drugs, and emergency equipment to AIIMS facilities, significantly reducing delivery times. The Ayushman Bharat expansion, with projects valued at over Rs 12,850 crore, seeks to bolster healthcare access across India, and Skye Air’s participation represents a pioneering step in healthcare delivery.

Ankit Kumar, CEO of Skye Air, highlighted the significance of this integration: “As drone technology becomes an integral part of healthcare delivery in India, Skye Air is advancing healthcare logistics across major AIIMS facilities. This initiative bridges critical healthcare gaps, especially in underserved areas, by ensuring timely access to medical resources.”

Skye Air’s advanced drones, StarLiner and Artemis, are fitted with temperature-controlled compartments to preserve the quality of medical goods during transport. Designed to handle significant payloads, these drones showcase a practical approach to meeting the healthcare sector’s logistical needs.

This partnership aligns with PMJAY’s mission to enhance healthcare equity by ensuring that even remote and rural communities receive timely medical care. As India continues to build its healthcare infrastructure, drone technology offers a sustainable framework for delivering essential healthcare resources, setting a precedent for innovative, technology-driven healthcare solutions across the nation.
