CCI Approves Merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India to Form Leading Hospital Network
CCI approves Aster DM and Quality Care merger, creating a major healthcare network with 38 hospitals and plans to expand to 13,300 beds by FY27.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for the merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002. The merger is anticipated to be finalized within this year.

The newly formed entity, Aster DM Quality Care, will be jointly managed by Aster Promoters and Blackstone, combining the strengths of two prominent healthcare providers. Their shared goal is to expand access to high-quality healthcare services across India.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, highlighted that the CCI's approval marks a major milestone. He emphasized that this merger signifies not just the consolidation of assets, but a union of vision, expertise, and commitment toward building one of India's largest healthcare networks. The integration is expected to strengthen operational capabilities, drive innovation, and enhance patient outcomes.

Aster DM Quality Care Limited will consolidate four leading brands — Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare — under its umbrella. The network will comprise 38 hospitals with over 10,150 beds across 27 cities, positioning it among India's top three hospital chains. The entity aims to expand to 13,300 beds by FY27 through a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects.

The merger is expected to unlock operational synergies, standardize clinical practices, and foster innovation through investments in advanced healthcare technologies, ultimately improving patient care quality and experiences.
