BorderPlus launches a ₹10 crore scholarship and a Kochi-based support centre to guide Indian nurses in pursuing international careers.

BorderPlus, a workforce mobility platform, has unveiled a scholarship initiative worth ₹10 crore to assist Indian nurses aspiring to work abroad. Announced on International Nurses Day, this two-year programme is designed to remove key obstacles like high exam fees, complex paperwork, and the absence of structured support, helping deserving candidates pursue international opportunities.
To further strengthen this mission, BorderPlus has opened its first regional Training and Support Centre in Kochi, currently supporting over 120 nursing candidates. The centre aims to expand its reach to more than 500, offering tailored services such as exam preparation, documentation help, and counselling. Through its digital platform, the Kochi centre will also cater to nurses in Kerala and neighbouring states. Operated by a local franchise partner, enrolments are already underway.
Co-founders Mayank Kumar and Ayush Mathur emphasized the global nursing shortage and India's potential to fill this gap. They expressed BorderPlus’s dedication to creating transparent, ethical, and structured career pathways for Indian nurses.
The scholarship will be merit-based, considering candidates’ intent and alignment with long-term global goals. A screening and interview process will help identify those most likely to thrive in international roles.
BorderPlus believes enabling Indian nurses to work overseas not only advances their careers but also boosts India’s remittance economy, helping them support families at home while contributing to global healthcare systems.
