In a bid to cater to the burgeoning healthcare demands in Bengaluru, Aster DM Healthcare, a prominent player in the healthcare sector, has declared its comprehensive expansion strategy for Aster CMI Hospital, a renowned multispecialty institution in the city.

The expansion blueprint entails a substantial augmentation of infrastructure, adding a sprawling 300,000 square feet to the existing facility. This expansion initiative aims to escalate the bed capacity from the current 500 beds to an impressive 850 beds, effectively bolstering the hospital's ability to serve a larger patient base.

With an estimated investment of approximately Rs. 250 crore, the company is poised to revamp the existing infrastructure, with the anticipated completion and commissioning slated for the fiscal year 2027.

Dr. Azad Moopen, the Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, expressed optimism regarding the growth trajectory of the company's India business, citing a remarkable 35 percent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in EBITDA over the past five years. He underscored the significance of operational leverage resulting from brownfield expansions and strategic cost optimization endeavors in driving sustained performance in the future.

Echoing Dr. Moopen's sentiments, Dr. Nitish Shetty, CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, India, emphasized the imperative of accommodating the escalating patient requirements by expanding the infrastructure of the existing Aster CMI Hospital, currently operating at full capacity.

The expansion vision extends beyond Aster CMI Hospital, encompassing plans to introduce an impressive 1,700 beds by fiscal year 2027, propelling the cumulative bed tally in India to over 6,600 beds. This growth trajectory will be realized through a blend of organic and inorganic expansion avenues, including brownfield and greenfield projects.

Moreover, the company is eyeing potential markets such as Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, signaling its intent to establish a robust footprint in key geographies. The proposed capital allocation for this expansive endeavor stands at an impressive Rs. 1,000 crore.
