Aster DM Healthcare has announced the 2024 Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, which will award a sum of Rs. 2 crore to one nurse. Nurses from all over the globe can apply at www.asterguardians.com. by November 15, 2023, nominating in up to three areas: Patient Care, Nursing Leadership, Education, Social/Community Service, and Healthcare Innovation.

Ernst & Young LLP (EY) will review entries, and the top ten nurses will be chosen by a Grand Jury. The winner will be revealed on International Nurses Day in May 2024.

In the first edition in Dubai (May 2022), Nurse Anna Qabale Duba from Kenya won. The second edition (May 2023) had 52,000 registrations from 202 countries, and Nurse Margaret Helen Shepherd from the UK, a monogenic diabetes expert, won. She used part of her ₹2 Crore prize to fund genetic tests for monogenic diabetes patients worldwide.
