Asian Hospital, Faridabad, announced that it has become the first hospital in Faridabad to receive the Platinum Award from the World Stroke Organization (WSO). The World Health Organization (WHO) collaborated with Asian Hospital in recognizing the efforts of Dr. Neha Kapoor, Associate Director and HOD Neurology, and her team at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad.

Dr. Neha Kapoor, leading the Neurology department at Asian Hospital, has showcased unwavering dedication and expertise in stroke care. Since 2022, Dr. Neha has actively contributed to the WSO Angels Initiative, striving to implement effective practices in acute stroke management. Through her tireless efforts, patients' condition has improved significantly, positively impacting the well-being of stroke survivors.

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Neha Kapoor shared her thoughts, expressing-

“Striving for recovery should be the primary objective in all stroke cases. This recognition validates our commitment to providing stroke care and making an impact on patient outcomes.”

The Angels Initiative E-Rescue registry, facilitated by the World Stroke Organization (WSO), has played a pivotal role in Asian Hospital's journey. Developed by the ESO, this global stroke care quality database aims to improve care systems worldwide and enhance stroke treatment. Since 2022, Asian Hospital actively participated in the registry, diligently recording data from stroke patients under neurology care.

Using the E-Rescue registry, Asian Hospital has established a comprehensive framework for continuous monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of their healthcare quality system. This framework enables the hospital to adhere to standards and implement best practices in acute stroke care, ultimately influencing factors such as discharge, medications and functional status, among other crucial aspects of stroke management.
