Apollo Hospitals reveals plans for a new 500-bed facility in Mumbai, enhancing specialty care in cardiology, oncology, and more. The group also aims to expand its Lucknow hospital, adding 300 beds to increase healthcare accessibility across India with over 3,500 beds planned in 11 locations.
Apollo Hospitals has entered into an agreement to develop and operate a 500-bed hospital in Worli, Mumbai, aiming to make it operational within four years. This facility will feature advanced diagnostic screening services in cardiology, oncology, gynecology, neurology, orthopedics, intensive care, and more, providing comprehensive healthcare under one roof.
Additionally, Apollo plans a significant expansion of its Lucknow facility by adding 300 beds, transforming it into a 500-bed hospital. This expansion is supported by a recent acquisition of 1.2 acres of land adjacent to the existing site and is projected to be operational in three years.
These initiatives are part of Apollo Hospitals’ broader strategy to add over 3,500 capacity beds across 11 locations in India within the next four years. The total estimated project cost across these sites is around Rs 6,100 crores, with over Rs 1,700 crores already allocated for land, security deposits, and preliminary project development.
Commenting on these advancements, a spokesperson noted, “Apollo Hospitals is committed to increasing healthcare accessibility in India through state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology to cater to a growing patient base.”
The remaining Rs 4,400 crore investment will be sourced from Apollo’s internal funds and accruals, underscoring the group's dedication to funding its expansion sustainably.
