Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai introduces 5G ambulances for real-time medical interventions, revolutionizing emergency care.

Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai (AHNM) has launched a cutting-edge 5G-connected ambulance service aimed at revolutionizing emergency medical care. This advanced service is designed to provide faster, real-time medical interventions during the critical golden hour, significantly improving patient outcomes.

The newly unveiled 5G ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, patient monitoring applications, and telemetry devices. These technologies enable the real-time transmission of vital health data from the ambulance to the hospital, ensuring continuous communication with the hospital's command center. This allows doctors to make timely decisions and prepare for the patient's arrival.

The high-speed, low latency 5G network facilitates uninterrupted communication, including near-real-time camera feeds that allow ER specialist doctors at the hospital to virtually guide paramedics during transit. This ensures that immediate medical interventions can be administered en route to the hospital.

Dr. Nitin Dange, Chief of Emergency Services at AHNM, stated, “The introduction of 5G-connected ambulances marks a significant milestone in emergency medical care. This service will enable us to provide timely and effective medical interventions, improving the chances of survival and recovery for our patients.”

AHNM handles an average of 1,500 emergency room visits each month and operates a fleet of eight ambulances to ensure swift and efficient emergency responses. The hospital has also engaged with over 500 local communities, conducting around 150 activities annually, including 15 ER awareness programs. AHNM actively promotes the emergency number 1066 and offers a free ambulance service within a 30 km radius.

In addition to the 5G ambulance service, AHNM has launched the “Golden Hour Heroes” program to recognize individuals who have received emergency training and used their skills to save lives. This initiative aims to encourage more community members to get trained and be prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Ms. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, said, “The 5G ambulance service and our Golden Hour Heroes program reflect our commitment to leveraging technology and community engagement to enhance emergency medical care. We believe these initiatives will significantly impact patient care and empower more individuals with life-saving skills.”

With the launch of the 5G ambulance service, AHNM continues to lead in adopting innovative healthcare solutions, setting a new standard for emergency medical services in India.
