Apollo Hospitals and Google Cloud have joined forces to pioneer transformative healthcare advancements. Through the fusion of Apollo's medical expertise and Google Cloud's technological prowess, they are reshaping the healthcare landscape.
Apollo Hospitals has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to launch Apollo 24|7, India's first comprehensive digital healthcare platform.
Apollo 24|7, powered by Google Cloud, provides telemedicine services, online doctor consultations, medication home delivery, and improves clinician decision-making. This collaboration includes the following individuals:
Development of an AI-driven Clinical Decision Support System
Apollo 24|7, in conjunction with Google Cloud, has created a Clinical Intelligence Engine (CIE) using Vertex AI and generative AI models. This assists doctors in making informed decisions during consultations, utilizing data from Apollo Hospitals and Google Cloud’s large language models while prioritizing patient data security.
AskApollo Patient-Facing Service
AskApollo is a unique care navigation service built on top of Apollo’s CIE, utilizing decades of clinical data and Google Cloud’s advanced AI and machine learning technologies. They are also exploring the use of Med-PaLM 2, a Google-developed large language model specialized in medical knowledge.
Scalable cloud platform for Apollo 24|7
In collaboration with Google Cloud partner Searce, Apollo 24|7’s engineering teams deployed numerous microservices and databases on Google Cloud with zero downtime. The data lake is built on Google BigQuery, consolidating data for better decision-making and clinical outcomes.
Providing Healthcare Information on Google Search
Google and Apollo Hospitals are working together to offer authoritative health information on Google Search, leveraging Google’s AI capabilities and Apollo’s decades of healthcare expertise to enhance accessibility, accuracy, and affordability in diagnosis and health information.
“Access to timely and accurate health information is a real challenge in India, and our partnership with Google Cloud is poised to address it through various collaborations. Apollo’s expertise, data and hospital network will help shape a new era of precision and empathy in clinical decision making with medical grade generative AI, and AskApollo embodies the fusion of technology and compassion to revolutionize patient care,” said Shobana Kamineni, Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals.
Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud said, “Generative AI has the transformative power to bring conversational medicine to clinicians and patients alike. Our work with Apollo Hospitals will improve accessibility in healthcare, support clinicians and care teams, and drive better patient engagement—ultimately benefiting millions of Indians.”
