Apollo Clinic's "Mother’s Month" campaign introduces specialized health check packages, aiming to combat NCDs among women in India.
Apollo Clinic has embarked on a mission to address the burgeoning burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among women in India with the launch of "Mother’s Month," a month-long women’s health campaign. This initiative aims to empower women to take proactive steps towards safeguarding their health through comprehensive screenings and consultations.
Central to the campaign is the introduction of a specialized women’s health check package, meticulously curated to encompass screenings for over 88 health parameters. The package includes essential tests such as complete blood count, liver function tests, and X-rays, among others. Additionally, women can avail themselves of critical services including pap smears, ultrasounds, and specialist consultations, all aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of health issues.
Recognizing the disproportionate impact of NCDs on women in India, Apollo Clinic's initiative comes at a critical juncture. According to an ORF study, there is a prevalence of 62 NCDs per 1,000 women, significantly higher than the rate among men, which stands at 36 per 1,000. Common NCDs affecting elderly women include hypertension, osteoarthritis, diabetes, and bronchial asthma.
Sushant Kinra, Head of Apollo Clinic, underscored the significance of prioritizing women’s health within Indian families. "We recognize the crucial role mothers play in Indian families," Kinra stated. "Their well-being is paramount. This campaign extends Mother’s Day celebrations throughout May, encouraging women to prioritize their health through these checkups."
In a bid to make these essential health services more accessible, Apollo Clinic has also announced a substantial 70 percent discount on the women’s health check package, further incentivizing women to take charge of their health and well-being.
Apollo Clinic’s 'Mother’s Month' campaign represents a proactive step towards addressing the healthcare needs of women in India, emphasizing the importance of preventive care and early intervention in combating NCDs. With comprehensive screenings and specialized services, the initiative aims to empower women to lead healthier, happier lives, underscoring Apollo Clinic's commitment to delivering holistic healthcare solutions to communities across the nation.
