Aakash Healthcare's heroic medical intervention saved a 62-year-old woman with a fractured catheter.

A 62-year-old woman experienced a rare medical mishap after a routine angioplasty, where a catheter fractured, causing a portion to lodge in her aorta. The retrieval process was halted, as the catheter broke into two pieces and the retrieval snare shattered. The patient's condition was critical, necessitating rectification.

Subsequently, the patient was directed to Aakash Healthcare for continued medical attention. Through the use of fluoroscopy, it was determined that there were three distinct catheter fragments within her body, with one located in the abdominal aorta and two in her legs.

Dr. Ashish Agarwal, Director of Cardiology at Aakash Healthcare, highlighted the complexity and risks of removing an abdominal aorta fragment. The medical team used another snare to extract it, avoiding chest surgery. The patient underwent angioplasty and is currently in stable condition.

The CTVS team successfully extracted catheter fragments from blood vessels using advanced imaging techniques, resulting in a successful four-hour surgical procedure. Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, Aakash Healthcare's Managing Director, praised the hospital's clinicians for their dedication and positive patient outcome.
