A 4-year-old boy tragically lost his life following a root canal surgery at a private hospital in Kerala, which has raised serious allegations of medical negligence against the doctors involved.

The incident occurred in Kunnamkulam, where the child underwent the procedure under anesthesia. However, upon regaining consciousness, the child reportedly suffered severe discomfort, coupled with a significant drop in blood pressure, ultimately leading to his untimely death.

Root canal therapy is a dental procedure performed to save teeth affected by decay or infection. It involves the removal of the infected pulp from the tooth and sealing it to prevent reinfection.

Dental trauma or damage can also necessitate root canal treatment.
